Students in the BA in religious studies program engage in the comparative, cross-cultural study of religions and cultures. Employing various disciplinary approaches, including the historical, sociological, anthropological and theological, the academic study of religion seeks to interpret, analyze and evaluate the nature and role of religion in the lives of individuals and societies. The faculty of religious studies enjoy an excellent national reputation, and the degree is distinctive at ASU because the relatively small number of majors fosters undergraduate interaction with individual faculty.
