Course Description

A photograph is equivalent to thousand words. For movies, twenty four photographs showing successive stage of overall movement in a scene are recorded per second and rapidly projected one after another on the screen to create an illusion of motion. Such is the potential of the visual medium of communication known as still photography! Photography is both an art as well as a science and it requires serious and systematic study. An aspirant of a career in this fascinating and paying service industry has to systematically learn the technical and artistic aspects of photography. At Asian Academy of Film & TV, we believe that photography is a performing art and it is best learnt by doing under the watchful eyes of the trainer. This course of study is a judicious mix of theoretical instructions and extensive practical exercises. The course on Art of Still Photography has been designed to prepare the students to take up still photography as a vocation. The students of diploma course on Art of Still Photography are required to use their own 35 mm still and digital camera equipment and the photographic film rolls and get the exposed photographic film developed and printed at their own cost.
