If you enjoy interacting with people, with this certificate you will develop the skills, knowledge and values relevant to working with people in the health and social services sector. Our programme is about interacting with people and you will develop communication skills appropriately, understanding health and safety issues in the workplace, respecting different cultural, age and disability requirements, and demonstrating an understanding of the code of ethics for working in health or social services. As well as studying in the classroom, if you choose the social services option you will have the chance for hands on experience during a 140 hour work placement in a social service agency. You may be required to attend an interview to discuss the suitability of this programme for you.

With this qualification you will have gained the skills, knowledge and values needed to start work in a variety of social services or take your studies to the next level. This programme will prepare you for employment with a range of social service providers including community health care providers, non-government organisations (NGOs) or you can use this qualification as a springboard to further study.
