This two-year diploma program will prepare graduates for a number of progressive careers in the diverse field of recreation and leisure services. Throughout the program, students will experience real-life opportunities that connect theory and practice through in-class projects, community connections, and portfolio development, making learning engaging and meaningful. As champions of recreation and leisure services, students will provide leadership in designing, implementing, and evaluating programs for diverse populations. They will enhance community growth and development through research-informed practices, professional leadership, and inter-professional collaboration.

Graduates find employment in such areas as municipal recreation and parks departments, private agencies (the YMCA, for example), senior citizens' centres, nursing homes, hospitals for the disabled, rehabilitation centres, correctional institutions, group homes, commercial recreation facilities, cruise ships and outdoor adventure programs. Graduates have degree completion opportunities toward a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation and Leisure Studies at University of Waterloo, and Bachelor of Recreation and Leisure Studies at Brock University.
