The Bachelor of Planning (Honours) is a distinctive course that brings together the disciplines of planning, design, urban studies and society in a single degree program. It comprises theoretical, practical and project units which enable students to explore ideas in simulated and project-based learning environments. This course also includes a fourth-year research component. Throughout this four-year program students will acquire the knowledge and specialist skills required to design and create the vibrant places and spaces in which we live, work and interact. The course balances the built and natural environment with community needs, social equity, cultural significance and economic sustainability. Graduates will have the capacity to manage development; infrastructure and services; create new, and revitalise existing public spaces; conserve places of heritage; and enhance community value as populations continue to grow.
