Course Description

Our Master of Financial Analysis is based on a defined body of knowledge of proven relevance to the finance industry. It's designed as a pathway to the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter - the designation of professional excellence within the global investment industry. This two-year program is an ideal route to an internationally recognised professional accreditation in finance. We've developed our accounting and finance courses in partnership with industry, to meet the needs of business and professional associations, particularly the CFA. The curriculum is designed to provide you with a framework of relevant knowledge and skills required for high-level work in the finance industry. You'll get a broad understanding of economics, accounting, management and quantitative methods, while developing your analytical thinking. You'll gain a strong grounding in the foundation principles of finance and examine areas such as security valuation and portfolio management, debt and derivative securities, micro- and macroeconomics, competitive and monopoly market structures, credit analysis, and risk assessment. Our finance subjects are ranked in the Top 7 per cent in the world (QS world university rankings by subject 2015) and were among the top three universities in Victoria for research in accounting, auditing and accountability, banking, finance and investment (Excellence in Research for Australia, 2015).
