The undergraduate degree in music composition at Ohio University is a comprehensive program. In addition to offering specialized training in music composition, the degree provides students with the strong, well-rounded education in music required to achieve success as a composer.

Graduates of Ohio University's music education and music therapy programs occupy positions of leadership at the local, state, and national levels. Job placement of our music education and music therapy students has been near 100% since 2003. OHIO music alumni are successfully pursuing careers as music teachers (private studio-university levels), orchestral and military ensemble performers, Broadway show and opera singers, touring artists, conductors, administrators, and award-winning composers.Graduates of all of our music degrees have pursued graduate study at major institutions, such as the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, California Institute of the Arts, Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Cincinnati, the University of Illinois, Indiana University, Michigan State University, Northwestern University, the University of Georgia, the University of Nebraska, the University of North Texas, and the University of Oklahoma.
