This program develops the skills and knowledge you need to effectively manage the health information required for patient care, administration, research, and education. The program trains you in the specialized techniques required in health information management. It offers a unique combination of medical, computer, and business courses. Emphasis during the program will be on the following: Health information science Medical terminology Anatomy and physiology Medical coding Computerization Statistical analysis As a graduate you will be eligible to write the national certification exam administered by the Canadian Health Information Management Association.
