Course Description

The Diploma in Photographic Imaging sits within UCOL’s school of Photography, Arts and Design (SPAD). The Diploma in Photographic Imaging builds on the long term success of photographic training at UCOL which sets the benchmark for programmes in visual imaging across New Zealand. The Diploma focuses on contemporary digitally based photographic imaging, and graduates will be able to apply a range of conceptual, creative and technical skills for employment or self-employment. You’ll learn basic business skills and build your industry portfolio. This means you’ll develop your creative talent in a practical, career focused way. If a year goes by and you’re not ready to leave yet, you’ll also have the opportunity to go further. You can transfer to the Bachelor of Applied Visual Imaging (BAVI) degree after completing Year One. This programme is also offered at the UCOL Institute of Commercial Photography / Auckland.
