Master of Music (MMus)

Course Description

The Master of Music (MMus) is an internationally recognised qualification that will give you entry to a high-level career in many areas of music, and help you to achieve excellence in your main field of musical interest. You will choose one of four main areas of study: Performance – a concerto, lecture-recital, piece of written work or chamber-music performance, plus a concert recital Composition – a portfolio of compositions Musicology – a thesis on an approved topic, or a portfolio of work in approved subject areas Studio Pedagogy – a combination of practical and theoretical components with a pedagogical focus The programme is normally started in Semester One, but if you are taking the Performance major you may be able to begin in Semester Two, if places are available.
