The Professional Master of Education (Languages) programme is designed to provide graduates with a professional qualification in language teaching. Graduates will become post-primary teachers of two of the following languages: French, German, Irish, Japanese, Spanish. English as a second language (ESL) is offered as an option on this programme. Applicants are required to hold a level 8 honours degree (2.2 or above) in a relevant discipline. This course will develop students’ understanding of the language-learning process and associated pedagogies. Successful completion of an interview, part of which will be conducted in the proposed languages to be studied, will be a requirement. This programme is designed as follows:
