Our master’s program is the oldest and most established in Connecticut and the oldest program in the United States continually housed in a business school. We have always focused on business and continue to lead the nation in cutting-edge business applications in sports. Boiled down to its essence, our degree is focused on cultivating and training industry leaders to work in the sports industry, or any other industry through hands-on experiential education. The M.S. in Management of Sports Industries offers an exciting hands-on 36-credit degree program designed to prepare you for a successful career in professional sport team management, collegiate athletic administration, sport marketing, sport finance, sport facility management, or other career options. Internships and opportunities to learn from experienced practitioners in sport management have helped to launch successful careers for program graduates in corporations such as Octagon, WWE, ESPN, and Major League Soccer. Program participants can earn the right to have assigned industry mentors ranging from athletic directors to GMs of professional teams. The College of Business further prepares students through the Professional Enrichment Program, which has brought to campus experienced sports professionals such as ESPN’s Chris Berman, Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig, and New York Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman. To earn your degree, you will complete a sequence of interdisciplinary business and sports management core courses. You may elect to complete your degree with a series of electives or select one of our degree concentrations in collegiate athletic administration, facility management, or sport analytics.
