Labour studies is a multi-disciplinary perspective founded on the view that labour is central to understanding the economy, society, politics and history. In particular, papers provide critical, theoretical and applied investigation of work, employment and industrial relations. While special attention is paid to the New Zealand experience every effort is made to integrate this with a broader global perspective. Labour Studies is taught from a critical social science point of view with an emphasis on the labour movement and the importance of workers' emancipation.
