The study of music is a richly rewarding activity. It opens doors to creative vocational opportunities and enhances musical appreciation through the knowledge gained from the practice of theoretical skills. We teach Western classical music from Baroque to contemporary, through performance, composition, and musical scholarship and offer a number of papers based around sonic art and new technology. You will benefit through teaching by staff who are highly qualified professionally and active in their fields on a national and international scale as composers, performers, and musicologists. Our aim is to assist you in developing technique and understanding to achieve your full potential in music. A graduate diploma is a more in-depth version of a graduate certificate, is studied at undergraduate level, and can be completed in the equivalent of one year (two semesters) of full-time study. Students need to gain 120 points at 100 level (first year papers) or above, including at least 80 points at 300 level (third year papers) or above, in the graduate diploma subjects to complete the qualification.
