Physical geography elements involve scientific examination of the processes that form the Earth’s surface appearance. You will understand the science that shapes our planet, from global systems in year one to environmental policy in year three. You will develop practical skills such as GIS and surveying, so you will stand out from the crowd with your ability to analyse the physical environment to a high professional standard. No physical geography degree can be confined to a classroom and our diverse field courses make this degree unique. Almost all modules are supported by field courses that exploit the fact we are close to some of the UK’s best landscapes, including the Brecon Beacons National Park, Glamorgan Heritage Coast, Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. You can also travel further afield – from Mallorca to Mount Etna – as well as tropical expeditions to explore rainforests and coral reefs in Cuba, Honduras or Indonesia (additional costs apply).
