Our production-based BA (Hons) Filmmaking focuses on key drama and documentary storytelling skills by developing advanced craft techniques used in the professional media. Creative practical work is underpinned by an in-depth understanding of culture and context. The course pushes boundaries, intellectually and imaginatively. We will open your eyes to filmmaking for the 21st century through development of non-linear, trans-media and multiplatform projects. The aim is to give you the knowledge to navigate the industry as it changes over the next 10 to 20 years by applying techniques you have never used, never imagined. Our high-quality, multi-skilled graduates go on to work in careers in the creative industries and in groundbreaking roles in digital media.

Our graduates go on to work in media companies ranging from the BBC, ITV, Aardman Animations and Heart Radio to interactive multimedia companies and arts-based organisations. Posts include production management, camera operators, sound mixers, colour graders, researchers and even cinematographers.
