It takes the Department's strengths in computer science, games development and creative technology and focuses these on mobile technologies. You will develop a solid understanding of mobile device technology, mobile application development, multimedia development and product design. As you progress, you can specialise in advanced technologies such as user-interfaces, graphics, multimedia, artificial intelligence, social media or networking. As a result, you will be equipped to create mobile technologies of the future, which take into account transferable, sound, software development practices.

Computer professionals are in high demand and, due to the increasing prevalence of mobile technology; demand for mobile computing specialists and mobile game developers are particular growth areas. On graduation, your combination of software and hardware expertise will be sought after by employers. These skills are particularly valuable in mobile game, mobile app development, mobile computing, real-time programming, embedded systems development and digital systems processing. Potential careers could also include designing and implementing new systems as part of a development team.
