The Specialist Practitioner (District Nurse) course is delivered through blended learning with the aim of preparing experienced nurses for 21st Century district nursing. The combined theory and practice programme is designed to develop knowledge and skills to become safe, autonomous and competent Specialist Practitioner District Nurses, who initiate, lead and deliver contemporary district nursing practice.

Successful students may have the opportunity to progress to Masters level with the option of continuing to the MSc Health Studies (Community Health).
