Tourism Operations 4 is designed for students who are interested in working in the tourism sector in an operational role. You will learn the skills and knowledge to support and enhance the delivery of a quality visitor experience across a range of organisations in the tourism industry. In this programme you will develop skills and knowledge of New Zealand destinations, tourism experiences, customer service and business systems. You will visit tourist attractions as part of your learning. Destinations may include Auckland to visit the Sky Tower and Sky City, Rotorua to visit the Buried Village, Mitai Village or Tamakai Village and local attractions such as the Hamilton Gardens and Waikato River Explorer.

Graduates of the programme will have the skills and knowledge to work in a wide variety of positions in the tourism industry. Roles may include inbound tourism operator, cabin crew, attraction supervisor, transport provider, airport ground crew, or tourist information supervisor. ​This programme can pathway to the New Zealand Diploma in Tourism and Travel (Level 5) [Ref: 2206] or to Wintec’s Bachelor of Applied Management.
