The aim of this diploma is to enable students to acquire currency of knowledge in the health care system and the role of the health professional within Aotearoa/New Zealand. Students studying this qualification will examine health from an individual, whanau/family and community perspective. This qualification will introduce and broaden expertise in the areas of palliative care, rehabilitation and health of the older adult. This qualification provides the student with the opportunity to further study in a more specialised field within health including an undergraduate degree. Graduates will be able to seek employment opportunities within a range of health care settings, such as rehabilitation, palliative care and disability support services.
