The MBS in Human Resource Management provides the student with the opportunity to greatly enhance their specialist subject knowledge, experience innovative learning methods and explore opportunities arising from innovation, change and business development. Students achieve this through participation in class activities and through involvement in a series of events including those organised by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Our School is an accredited centre for the CIPD professional body and the MBS Human Resource Management awards CIPD graduate accreditation which is a global qualification. A key feature of this programme is that it sets the theories into a wider practical perspective, through the use of case studies, state of the art technology and visiting staff who are experienced and respected practitioners.

The central aim of the MBS in Human Resource Management is to foster and develop both the conceptual and practical skills needed to contribute, succeed and lead in the current dynamic and challenging business climate. Many MBS graduates progress to senior management in a variety of areas including industrial relations, employer agencies, consultancy and training and development. In addition to the academic content, the course also includes elements designed to give practical employment experience, and develop professional skills. As part of the programme, students have access to WIT’s Careers Management Centre and they work closely careers advisers to support them with career development from initial self-assessment through the job search and beyond. Students benefit from a customised Seminar Series which brings together invited keynote speakers from a diverse range of businesses and public policy organisations, so that students have the opportunity to learn from industry-leading practitioners. Previous MBS students have benefited from these close links with industry and many of our partner organisations have been happy to consider our students for first job positions alongside more experienced applicants.
