Start your career in the hairdressing industry with the New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing - Salon Support*. You will develop a solid foundation in the skills required to work in a salon support role, including elementary hairdressing and make-up services, as well as professional customer service skills needed in a salon environment. You will advance your technical and artistic skills and you will also develop a portfolio of work as you learn about styling, colouring and cutting. Under the guidance of our hairdressing tutors you’ll work on real clients in our salons, sample the industry first-hand with work experience, the World of Wearable Arts, and participate in hairdressing competitions.

Employment opportunities exist in the hairdressing industry as a salon assistant, or you may enter into the hairdressing industry as an apprentice and continue on with training as a second-year apprentice.
