Following the recent global economic crisis, economics is more important and relevant than ever. Decisions on money, banking, interest rates, taxation and government spending affect us all, with global consequences. Economics aims to understand the activities of the different agents in the economy – consumers, producers and the government – and how they all fit together. Our degree will give you the ability to explain complex data in simple terms to different audiences. You’ll also develop excellent mathematical, statistical and problem-solving skills. In Business Law, you’ll study commercial law and business legal regulations. These include company law, competition law and human rights law. Work placement You'll have opportunities for short-term work placement on the second-year Leadership Development Programme Two class. However, the BA degree does not formally build work placements into its curriculum.

Graduates who specialise in Business Law develop excellent research and analytical skills. You’ll be able to interpret and explain complex information both verbally and in writing and have good commercial awareness. You'll have the potential to work in government services, commerce and industry, banking and insurance, management and administration.
