Te reo Māori is a stoic language and an official language of Aotearoa/New Zealand. The study of te reo will enhance your identity as an individual, and will help to establish a foundation for encountering other worldviews, and the development of international links and connections. You'll learn in a supportive environment that sees new and exciting ways to deliver the language and with practitioners that are committed to the ongoing survival, retention and maintenance of te reo Māori. The Te reo Māori programme at Waikato enables you to learn the language at an introductory level through to advanced. We are the only university that teaches level 3 during undergraduate study which enables you the advantage of attaining advanced language skills before progressing to graduate level or moving into the workforce.
